PHD Candidate Supervised Jointly by Prof. Li Yongdong Won Excellent Doctoral Thesis Award in the Field of Electrical Engineering in France

Zheng Zhixue , a PHD candidate in Fuel Cell Lab of Univerisite de Franche-Comte, France, who was guided jointly by Prof. Li Yongdong with the Department of Electrical Engineering, won the 2016 National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award for Electrical, Electronic and Automation Engineering(Figure 1, selected once for two years, only one place in each field). Dr. Zheng Zhixue made a speech called On-line fault diagnosis of PEMFC stacks via non-model based methods and EIS measurements at the award ceremony, which got the high praise of the participating experts (Figure 2).

Dr. Zheng Zhixue was a postgraduate student of Prof. Li Yongdong with the Department of Electrical Engineering and she went to France for a doctor’s degree in June,2011. After hard study and work of three years, Zheng Zhixue defended the thesis called On-line fault diagnosis of PEMFC stacks via non-model based methods and EIS measurements in August,2014. As the joint guider, Prof. Li Yongdong attended the defense.

Prof. Li Yongdong returned home after he obtained the doctor’s degree in France in early 1988. He has been engaged in the research of high-performance, high-capacity, all-digital power electronics and AC motor control and its applications in energy-saving motor, high-speed rail and ship electric traction after 1990. His team has always attached importance to international academic communication and service to the country's major practical needs, and some PHD candidates were trained jointly in international first-class laboratories in the related field. Among these students, some have acquired the position in well-known universities at home and abroad, and others have become technical backbones in the domestic key enterprises.
